This is a summary of your key legal rights as a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law. These rights are subject to certain conditions and exceptions. For detailed information please visit the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission website at https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees or call 1300 302 502.
The Australian Consumer Law protects consumers by giving them certain guaranteed rights when they buy goods and services (Consumer Guarantees). For example, if your purchase is for goods, the Consumer Guarantees require that the goods be of acceptable quality, match their description and be fit for purpose. If your purchase is for services, the Consumer Guarantees require that the services be provided with due care and skill and be reasonably fit for any specified purpose. These are examples only; the Australian Consumer Law contains other Consumer Guarantees. Consumer Guarantees have no set time limit but generally last for a period that is reasonable to expect depending on the price and quality of the goods or any representations made.In addition to the warranties against defects given to you under our Warranty Card , the Australian Consumer Law also provides for certain remedies for defective goods and services. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
a to cancel your service contract with us; and
b to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
